Chris Routh, Senior Ornithologist & Environmental Scientist
Chris Routh (BSc MRSB CBiol MCMI) has over 30 years of international experience gained on projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, South and North America. Chris’ track record includes renewables, mining, waste management, infrastructure and manufacturing.
Chris has particular experience in ornithological and ecological issues and has undertaken baseline studies, impact and risk assessments for solar PV and wind farm developments, including modelled collision risk assessments. Recently, Chris developed the ornithological survey protocols, provided training and quality assurance and co-authored the Cyanide Code-related causation study at the Kumtor gold mine in Kyrgyzstan. He also has a background in broader environmental risk assessment, baseline studies, impact assessments, environmental due diligence and auditing, and management systems.
Chris graduated in Biological Sciences from Leicester University, is a member of the Royal Society of Biology and a Chartered Biologist. Chris is also a bird bander (ringer) holding a UK ‘A’ permit, and is a Director of MDS Mining & Environmental Services Ltd based in the UK.
