Elizabeth Freele, Social Performance Advisor

With 9 years’ experience as a social performance professional, Elizabeth has supported startup to mid-tier natural resource companies across the project lifecycle, from the field to the boardroom, in corporate responsibility and sustainability functions. Her experience spans Africa, Europe, Oceania and the Americas, across various industries, including mining, agriculture, renewable energy, circular economy and cleantech. Notably, Elizabeth built the sustainability function of junior gold miner Roxgold Inc. in West Africa, and has provided corporate governance, thought leadership and advisory services to mid-tier globally diversified Teck Resources Inc.

Based in Vancouver, Canada, Elizabeth holds an MBA from IE Business School, a Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from Harvard Business School, and a BA in Political Science and Global Development from Western University. She also has training and experience with IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, ISO 14001, UNGC & Voluntary Principles, GRI sustainability reporting, social risk assessment and Human Rights Impact Assessments.
