Kate Kopischke, Lead Mediator & Dialogue Facilitator

Kate Kopischke is an experienced mediator and dialogue facilitator specializing in complex environmental and social (E&S) challenges. She has over 20 years of experience in public and private sector consensus building, multi-party stakeholder engagement, grievance mechanism design and practice, mediation training and capacity building, and communication and outreach focused on dialogue and dispute resolution processes. She previously served as Lead Mediator of the Independent Accountability Mechanism (IAM) of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Dispute Resolution Specialist at the Compliance Advisor/Ombudsman (CAO) of the International Finance Corporation/Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (IFC/MIGA), Expert Stakeholder Engagement Practitioner at the U.N. Development Programme, and as an E&S Safeguards Expert at the Green Climate Fund (GCF). She has a master’s degree in Intercultural Communication and a bachelor’s in Anthropology and Journalism from the University of New Mexico. She also holds multiple certificates in a range of mediation and stakeholder engagement approaches.
