Rachel A. Aron, Social Development Advisor
Rachel is a seasoned advisor with over 15 years of experience, including 12 years at the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) covering diverse projects across Africa, including in fragile and post-conflict countries.
Rachel’s experience includes public and private sector projects and programs, covering transport, energy, water and sanitation, agriculture, oil and gas, and mining as well as other sectors, such as manufacturing, health, tourism, and information and communication technology.
Rachel serves as an Advisory Board member for African Utility Week and Global Mining Sustainability. She contributes as an Expert to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)’s Inclusive Policy Lab. She also serves as a Board member for Circle of Global Business Women. She is a member of Avançons Ensemble, a platform serving to advance the development prospects of francophone West and Central Africa. She is a Senior Advisor to the President of the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network on a global gender-based violence campaign. She is also a Task Force member for Initiate! Africa, an initiative focused on youth and entrepreneurship.
Rachel holds a Master of Arts in International Development, specialized on community development and gender, from American University, Washington, DC. She is fluent in English and French and resides in Johannesburg, South Africa.
